"I was in shock to hear of Bill's passing. We have talked on the phone at least once a year for several years, the last time was to check on whether he would be coming to this past years' Golden Gathering. But, no, he was in the middle of fair season.
I first met Bill when our school would play softball against Fernwood each spring. We rode the same bus to high school and, starting with our Sophomore year wrestled together. He ALWAYS had a story to tell. He was a cancer survivor and I guess I thought he would outlive me. I will always have good memories of Bill and will miss our Christmas call.

Below is a bio and photographs received from Bill in June of 2008
Bill and Lorre Meyers have been married for 45 years and presently live in Hermiston, Oregon
Children: Selena, 43; Tim, 41; George, 36; Greg, 36
Grandchildren: 14
Bill is a retired electrician and farmer.
Pastimes and hobbies:
Fiddle Music: I play music at assisted living facilities, old time fiddle shows and at music jams when possible.
We have a team of Belgian Draft horses and we are active with them in the North Eastern Oregon area doing parades, activities with the Pendleton Round-Up Association, Plowing Bee's, Wagon train trips, and we like to drive them at our cabin in the Blue Mountains.
Hunting: I have been very fortunate to have access to good hunting opportunities for antelope, deer, and elk. I am blessed with good health and family members to take me hunting. I don't golf!
I always thought the class of '58 was a moral and respectful group. I enjoyed the fellowship at the reunions even though I didn't keep in contact with many classmates.
Our family is close to us and keeps us busy with their many activities throughout the year.
