Dear 1958 NHS Classmates, Here is registration and fees for myself and my husband, for the Willamette River boat ride this July. We are both very much looking forward to coming, and getting more acquainted. After NHS, schooling continued at Lewis and Clark College. I met husband, Al, at Crater Lake, the second summer. After graduation, we were two years at Sewart AFB, Tennessee, where our daughter, Dixie, was born. Another daughter was born to us at Hood River, and a son, in Bend. We still have the house we bought 30 years ago when the Forest Service transferred us from Oregon to Cascade, Idaho. We've spent eleven years on fire lookout, above the new Tamarack Ski Resort during summers, and currently, Al is in his seventh session, working with Pages in the Idaho Legislature, winters. Travels have taken us to the Palatinate in Germany, my ancestors' place of refuge during the Reformation, and in 2001 to southern England, where the Noyes brothers embarked for New Hampshire in 1633. Our son's schooling and career have taken us to Arizona, Florida, Georgia, and four times to Alaska, where he serves as Mission Commander aboard AWAC's planes. Father Earl, died in 1995, and Mom died in 2007 -- both of Shrock's Appliance and Paint, Newberg. Brother Keith is in Beaverton, sister, Nadine is in Seattle, and Loren is in Wilsonville. All went on with their music. Loren is married to a Weishaur. BJ is related to Gaynelle and Bill. Some other paths have crossed once in awhile, with '58 classmates; ie: Ruthellen (Hinshaw) and Johnny Johnson came to our condo in Boise recently, and we had a wonderful day together. Our middle daughter attended Mary Kaye Emerson's dad's church in Salem for several years. I kept correspondence with Penny (Jackson) and David Roth for many years too. Al and I have 10 grandchildren -- five girls and five boys, one of whom is a great-grandson. (They live just down the lake from us in Cascade.) We have one Idaho family, one Oregon family and one USAF family. My career as organist and piano teacher has spanned 50 years, with approximately 250 weddings or so alongside. It has included - I don't know how very many - volunteer hours community, PTA, American Legion, the schools, and some 20 years affiliation with the RR Depot; a renovation project in Cascade, based upon the ministry of Francis and Edith Schaeffer, of L'Abri Fellowship. Here's a recent photo of Al and I, with my sister, Nadine, and her husband, taken at Island Park, near West Yellowstone. Kindest Regards, Marita
