For Ellen . . .
Friendship is the golden thread that ties hearts together. Linda

The following is a collection of memories sent us by Linda Farr Osborne
After graduation Ellen got a job at Meier and Frank in Portland, working as a stock girl in ladies clothing. Ellen and I (Linda) worked about a half a block from each other and often met for lunch with LeRoy Goff, who worked across the street at Lipman Wolff. When she first moved to Portland she rented an apartment in the basement of a house just off Hawthorne. We became roomates when her roomate moved out and together we shared the cost of rent, $35 a month.
Ellen met Al O'Brian, who worked in the deli of Meier and Frank, and after seeing each other for about six months they became engaged. I was a bridesmade at their wedding. Time went by and Al worked for several years for the 7UP company. Elen stayed home and became a Mom to two girls and a boy. The girls now live in Arizona and Ellen's son was killed in an automobile crash in Hawaii.
Later Ellen and Al divorced and Ellen remarried a man several years older than she. Around the time of our 35th reunion I spoke with Ellen. At the time, her husband was in a care facility 60 miles from her home and her step father lived with her after her Mom died in a train wreck. By now she was a grandmother and she told me all about her grandson - and that she was getting a little bit chubby. Although we sent her all the information on that reunion, we never heard from Ellen.
Several years passed and I began to look for any Wroblusky in the Washington county phone book and found her brother (Jerry) who was able to tell me that Ellen had passed away from heart problems shortly after I talked with her.
Ellen and I were great friends and I hope someday to see her again. May she rest in peace.
