July 16, 2008, Sharon called to give us an update and greetings since she is unable to attend the reunion.
Sharon continues to live near Wasco, where she and her husband farmed for many years. She has been widowed since 2001. Her present residence is just a short way from there so she still has the same neighbors.
Sharon continues to work as a CNA at the Oregon Veterans Home in The Dalles. She says that when her husband retired he passed away at age 66. And when her friend, Naida (Burgoyne Corder) retired Naida passed away at age 66. So Sharon concluded that she would just keep on working. Now that she’s passed the 66 year age, she might think about retiring in about a year or two but she really loves her job.
She has five children and six grandchildren. Two of her grandchildren live near her but the others reside in Kansas.
She sends her best wishes to all her classmates with a special “hello” to Jerry and Kathleen Macken, Loretta Andrews Masonholder, and Pat Martin.
