From The Newberg GraphicReta Aline (Moore) Dixon was born to Walter and Clara Moore on September 15, 1940 in Thayer, Iowa. On March 1, 1941 she moved to Oregon. She grew up and lived on Parrett Mountain outside of Newberg, Oregon. She went to school and graduated at Newberg High in 1958.
She lived most her life in the Newberg area. She worked as a cashier for Safeway, a bank teller for First Interstate, and a caterer for the George Fox College. She loved to bake cakes and decorate them for all types of events. She also worked for her church.
On December 8, 1973, she married John C. Dixon Jr. and moved to Dayton, Oregon. She joined the Nazarene Church. Her life became all about family and church. She loved both very much.
On December 1, 2015 at 5 a.m., Reta Aline (Moore) Dixon died in McMinnville, Oregon, from causes relating to her age and long running illness. She was 75 years old. She is now with her husband John C. Dixon Jr.; father and mother, Walter and Clara Moore; and son Mike Stahl.
Surviving and honoring her life are brothers Dean and Jim Moore of Iowa; sisters Jean Olson of McMinnville, Linda Kibler of Gladstone, and Debra Moore of Wasilla, AK; children Jude Holmes of Cameron Park, CA, Fred Stahl of Dayton, Peggy Dixon of Los Angeles, CA, Maryann Stahl of La Grande, OR, Judy Mattson of Wasilla, AK, Michael Dixon of Newberg, and John Dixon of Rickreall, OR. She also has many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved very much. She has a large extended family and church family who know and appreciate what she has done in her life for them.
