I knew Jerry from about the 5th grade on! Jerry went to Rex School and I went to Ladd Hill! In order to have some sports all of the rural grade schools had a soft ball team and we all played! Our 8th grade year Jerry was a big kid and had a big bat. I was playing first base for Ladd Hill and Jerry bounced out to me three times and hit a low line drive that I fortunately got my mitt in front of.(more luck than skill) Jerry and I talked of that last year at the gathering and both got a good laugh! I will miss seeing Jerry at our gatherings! Dick Hays
I am so sorry to hear about Jerry; he did have a great smile and a kind sense of humor! I remember sitting by him in freshman algebra.........and he'd make me giggle with his comments about my mathematical genius, mostly my lack there-of!

Here's what we learned from Jerry in a recent phone conversation:
Jerry had retired but got tired of sitting around and went back to work. He lives in Canby but works in Tigard at the Garden Center for Fred Meyer. He'll be at work the day of our cruise but will attend the picnic as soon as he gets off shift on Sunday, the 20th.
