This is how I remember Marge after high school. I believe she started nursing school but dropped out after a time along with a girl named Clara. They each got jobs and rented an apartment close to NW 23rd in Portland, OR. Ellen (Wroblusky) and I visited her several times traveling by bus. After a time, Marge and Clara hosted several parties that were well attended. The two girls eventually met and married cousins from the Miller family of St.Johns.
John (Miller) and Marge headed to Germany for a couple of years. When they returned to the states they sere stationed at Fort Lewis. We (Linda and her husband, Mike) were stationed in Fort Lewis also so John and Marge decided to visit us. We happened to be visiting Oregon at the time so they climbed in an unlocked window and stayed until we returned home.
After divorcing, Marge married one more time but that also ended in divorce. Marge and I made yearly phone calls to each other. Naida (Burgoyne Corder) called me one day to say that Marge had had heart surgery at St. Vincent Hospital. After about three days I drove over to see her but was not allowed in being allowed to speak with her sister only. Later I was able to contact Marge at home - she was so excited about losing weight.
While attending the class reunion at the Elks Club (our 45th) I asked Billy Dressel if there was any news of Marge. He said she had signed up to come but didn't make it. We believe she had a heart attack and died.
I miss my friend, she had a good sense of humor. Rest in Peace Linda Farr Osborne
